MKIII and new tournaments

Post by Jocke Rapp » 19 Apr 2016, 10:39

MKIII

We have some great news for you today. First and foremost is that we have decided that Iron Moot 2016 will of course use the new edition of Warmachine & Hordes, released in June! Since there is still a lot we don’t know about this new edition and the ruleset, a lot of things can still be subject to change. However, the formats at the Iron Moot are mostly set. Also note that there will be a new Steamroller released in June, which also can effect tournaments, but we work together with Privateer Press to make the experience of the new edition as great as possible.

For the actual events, the immediate changes is that all tournaments currently at 50 points (Steamroller, Champions, Hardcore and Iron Gauntlet) will instead be 75 points in the new system. The previous 35 point tournament on Saturday will be 50 points instead in the new system. All formats remain unchanged for now, although the exact rules for Iron Gauntlet’s two final Gauntlet Rounds will be published in June 2016.

New tournaments

Furthermore, we have had a lot of sign-ups for this year’s Iron Moot and we’ve had requests to add more tournaments. And we will! There will be an extra 32 player 75 point Steamroller on both Friday and Saturday, both with qualifying spots for the Sunday Nordic Championship. Both of them will start around 12:00, meaning players will be able to drop from the morning tournaments on site and join these. The Champions tournament on Friday will move to the earlier starting slot, so it will start at 09:00 together with the first Steamroller.

There will still be a hard cap at 96 players at the Iron Moot, due to space at the event, but there will be more stuff to choose from!

The tickets for these tournaments will be available from Sunday, April 24 on the web site. The delay is to allow our existing ticket holders to get the opportunity first, so if you already have a ticket you can change it by sending us an e-mail on info@ironmoot.se

Guildball

We will also host a Guildball event at this year’s Moot. There will be tables available in the Iron Arena for free play and on Sunday there will be an officially sanctioned 16 man tournament.
For players who want to come only on Sunday for this tournament, we will have a special Guildball pass available. These will be 200 SEK and will include entry and lunch on Sunday.

Thank you and I hope to see you all in Gothenburg in August!

Iron Moot this year is more popular than ever. There are only 9 tickets left and then all of our tournament tables (at least on Saturday) will be filled up!

So if you know that you want to come - and frankly why wouldn't you - buy your ticket now! Only 9 left and counting...
